Make Mentoring Plus your chosen charity

It costs something like £200,000 to run Mentoring Plus for one year, allowing us to support about 50 children and young people. It's about the same as keeping one child in local authority residential care for a year, so it's great value. But we still have to raise an enormous amount every year to keep training and supporting mentors and young people.

If you're looking for a local charity to support that's having direct impact in your community, this is the one. Your donations and fundraising are spent efficiently and accountably, they save community costs in the future, and they change young lives now.

What does your money pay for?

£6,000 funds staff, materials and activities for our Youth Action Group for one year
£2,000 sponsors an individual pairing of mentor and young person
£1,000 pays for sport, cultural and arts trainers and activity providers for skills-building activities over 1 year
£150 pays for a group activity such as quad biking when mentors first meet young people
£75 pays for an arts workshop for 10 young people
£25 pays for a mentor to take a young person to a cafe to chat every week for a month (many mentors are unwaged)
£20 pays for healthy ingredients for 3 mentors and 3 young people to cook a meal together

Become a friend of Mentoring Plus and make a real differenceChanging Lives cover

Our Friends scheme is small, personal and helps us stay connected with our corporate and individual donors. We want you to join in the conversation, meet our young people and see the impact of your contribution - in a way that suits you.

Invitations to special events, project involvement, workplace talks or visits and partnership consultation are all part of the mix. As a partner and part of our community, you get to consult on priorities and you get to hear what our young people think, believe and strive for.

Please contact us for details of becoming a Friend of Mentoring Plus.
