Hi all, its been an unusually quiet patch in the world of Youth Reps, but fear not, we have news, and not just any news…we’re WINNERS! Like they didn’t know that anyway…
In recognition of the amazing, tireless work the group did in the setting up and running of the charity shop, they won the annual Chairmans Award! This was in the category of “Young Volunteer Group”, and was played out at a glitzy ceremony at Bath Guildhall.
Did I hear you say we’re in Bath life magazine?? https://issuu.com/mediaclash/docs/bl333_final

Winner – Young Volunteer Team of the Year – Youth Reps and Young Volunteers of Mentoring Plus
The Youth Reps and Young Volunteers of Mentoring Plus are a team of 19 young people who have been supported by Mentoring Plus. The ages of the team range from 10 – 21 years old. They are all vulnerable young people living in B&NES due to significant emotional difficulties, at risk of anti-social behaviour, socially isolated or struggling with school. The team have planned, prepared and volunteered their time in the ‘Opportunity Shop’ in Walcot Street during October 2016 half term. Most of the older teenagers are part of the Youth Reps group. A number of the other young people also volunteered in the shop, supported by their mentors. The enterprise project has enabled the young people to learn new skills and build confidence. Stephanie Massie said “All of our young people are amazing. They meet up once a week and share their experiences to effect change. They have come up with their own concept of running an enterprise project and have taken on positions of responsibility.”
